In this lecture, pathologic conditions that primarily affect children and young adults will be discussed. A number of entities will be examined, focusing on case history, signs, symptoms, and treatment.  Topics covered are tumors, syndromes, systemic diseases, infectious diseases, and autoimmune diseases.

Educational Objectives:

• Review various pathologic disease entities that affect children and young adults

• Cover signs, symptoms, and diagnostic features of these entities

• Go over case reports and clinical examples

• Gain an appreciation for the diagnostic process as it applies to disease in the head and neck region
