What are the dates, times and location of the 2022 Star?

Friday March 4, 2022 – 7:30 am – 6:00 pm; President’s Party 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Saturday March 5, 2022 – 7:30 am – 12:15 pm

All classes are on the 3rd level and exhibits are on the 4th level.
Very little walking between classes or the exhibit hall.

Is this an in-person event?

Yes

COVID Protocol and Mask Policy?

Fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear face coverings. We ask that all unvaccinated guests continue to wear face coverings and practice social distancing when they are in public spaces inside the hotel. Masks and gloves will be available upon request. Will you offer virtual courses?

No, in-person only

How can I register?

You may register beginning January 3, 2022, either online or by mail (download the registration form) from the Star of the South website). Register before February 11, 2022, to receive Early Bird rates. Rate increase after February 11, 2022

What do the new “all-inclusive” fees cover?

The 2022 Star of the South offers new “all-inclusive” fee schedule. The fee you pay covers all of the courses you attend at the meeting. Courses are scheduled on Friday and Saturday for Dentists and Hygienists for a total of 12.5 hours and on Friday only for Chairside Dental Assistants and Administrative Assistants for a total of 8.5 hours.

Can I attend the Exhibit Hall only if I do not want or need CE?

Yes, The Star of the South offers an Exhibits Only pass for those not wanting or needing to attend CE classes. For GHDS Members this option FREE, for other categories such as non-GHDS members, hygienists, chairside assistants, and administrators the fee is $75. You can obtain your Exhibits only pass onsite at the Registration desk when you arrive at the meeting. Non exhibiting commercial representatives are not allowed to attend.

Do I need to purchase tickets for the classes I want to take?

No, Classroom seating is on a first come, first seated basis. No tickets need to be purchased, there is no reserved seating. We do not anticipate this being a problem, but if a course is full when you arrive you can choose one of the additional courses available.

May I register if I am not a Dentist?

Yes, non-dentist attendees may register as the primary registrant, without a dentist and pay appropriate fee per your appropriate attendee category.

What is the cancellation Policy?

All cancellations requesting a refund must be received in writing on or before February 18, 2022 and will be assessed a 25% administrative charge with no exceptions. No refunds will be given after the stated deadline regardless of reason including, but not limited to death, illness, weather related issues or acts of God. When will I receive my registration materials?

Approximately 2 weeks prior to the meeting.

How do I receive handouts?

Handouts are not available for every course. If a speaker provides handouts, they will be available online beginning February 17, 2022. After you register to attend the Star of the South, instructions will be sent in the confirmation email (or mailed with your badge).

What do I do if I lost my badge or tickets?

Call 866-502-2956 or visit the registration booth onsite to replace your lost badge. Lost tickets must be repurchased.

Where is Lost and found?

If you find an item, please turn it in at the Registration booth.

How do I make hotel reservations?

Star of the South has negotiated special discounted hotel rates of $189 per night with the Westin Galleria Hotel. To book your room now, Click here or call 888-627-8514. Deadline to make room reservations is February 17, 2022.

Or you may book your hotel room at the same time that you register for the conference beginning January 3, 2022.

Classroom Temperatures

Although every effort is made to make the classroom temperatures as comfortable as possible, room temperatures may vary from warm to cold. To appropriately prepare for all conditions, please bring a sweater or jacket with you to the meeting.
