This lecture will provide the attendee the most common radiographic and soft tissue lesions that are presented in infants, children, and adolescents. The course will use case-presentation as the learning and discussion format and will cover the entire spectrum of oral radiology and pathology in pediatric dentistry. Topics such as radiation safety, digital radiology, CBCT in pediatric dentistry, radiographic interpretation and common radiographic lesions in children will be covered.
Educational Objectives:
- Understand the importance of “building” a differential interpretation in radiology
- Learn the most common radiographic and soft tissue lesions in infants, children and adolescents.
- Learn the indications of CBCT within the frame of practicing pediatric dentistry
- Understand the importance of radiation safety in the practice of dentistry with children and adolescents
- Understand why the lead apron is not anymore recommended during the process of taking radiographs
