Dr. Michelle Thompson is an Assistant Professor and Director of Digital Dentistry at the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry (UTSD). She oversees the integration of digital dentistry (CAD/CAM) into the predoctoral curriculum, postgraduate programs, and faculty practice. Dr. Thompson is a Howard University College of Dentistry Graduate (HUCD)graduate and she completed a two-year general practice residency at UTSD. She has been invited for local, state, national, and international presentations on digital dentistry. In organized dentistry, Dr. Thompson serves as Secretary for the Hispanic Dental Association nationally and has served in multiple leadership roles in the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and Greater Houston Dental Society. In 2023, she was awarded a Dean’s Excellence Award in Teaching from UTSD and the Hispanic Dental Association and Colgate Faculty of the Year Award. She is married to Dr. Jason Thompson (Endodontist, HUCD alum) and has two children, Jason Jr (6) and Nora Jean (3).
